You've been asked to create a monument for someone in history that lived during the Civil War time period. (Reconstruction Era) First you have to pick who it will be for: What qualities would you look for in the in the selection process? Write a paragraph to the selection committe about why you think this person should have a monument built in his/her honor. Then create a drawing of your monumnet.

Dear Selection Committie,
I believe that this monumnent should be displayed to honor Thaddens Stevens. I think this because I feel that the Reconstruction Act was very necessary, which Thaddens Stevens was in agreement with. I also feel that blacks should have had every right to vote. We should have all been treated equally. He was explaining how the rebel leaders should be punished, which they should have been. He thought the militarY rule should be set up in the South to enforce these policies.

I believe that this monument should be in honor of Abraham Lincoln. why i think this because abraham was a good men. He want to free blacks.He treated the south kindly and leniency.He wanted to be united.

I thing that the person that should have a statue is andrew johnson because it took a lot of guts to follow lincoln's ridicuols idea that there should only 10% of the vote to diside a vote of a state i will edmite thathe did make some dumb deciousion
